Picking Flowers On The Moon

Picking Flowers On The Moon is the Brand New Live CD from Jennie DeVoe. The CD was recorded last summer in Bill and Maxine Aten's Big Red Barn, called "Aten Place," in Boyne Falls, MI. The Atens have been running their highly coveted 175-seat concert venue for over 20 years, and they've found a perfect fit in Jennie DeVoe.
"Beyond her awesome talent as a blues singer-songwriter, she has the stage presence and personality that captures and captivates the intimacy of our venue," says Bill Aten. " Her ability to quickly read her audience and make a personal connection is a talent possessed by few. Her willingness to share her deepest insights with an audience endears her to them, and them to her, immediately."
Picking Flowers On The Moon (named after a line in her song, "Here On Earth," from 2004's Fireworks & Karate Supplies) gives the listener a glimpse into the magical experience that an evening with Jennie DeVoe is like. Her talent, her humor, and her connection with her audience come through loud and clear.
Showcasing primarily DeVoe's own original songs, the disc also features a few choice covers, such as , "Put A Spell On You," and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow." Long-time lead guitarist Brett Lodde shines on guitar, accompanied by the always fancy-pants Bill Ritter on bass.
DeVoe also had a hand in the CD's cover art: she drew the moons on the front and back covers, and conceived the vision for its overall look and feel. Picking Flowers On the Moon is a must for Jennie DeVoe fans--old and brand-new!
